An angus cow was left thoroughly unimpressed recently after being covered in spider webs during the arachnid s breeding season. Taking the opportunity to graze on a property in Woolsthorpe, a rural village in western Victoria, the cow soon regretted the choice of field, with a spider quickly covering the majority of the animal s face. Graeme, a local resident from Woolsthorpe, told ABC Ballarat the plethora of webs appear on his grass every April and May. A number of spiders spin their webs on my grass every autumn, he said. (WALB) - A Phoebe representative said during the pandemic, there has been a rise in opioid medications being used and abused. To try and stop this rise, the hospital system is hosting its drug take back event Thursday, from 3-6 p.m. This comes after the one in April was postponed because of inclement weather. The take back event in Albany will be at the Phoebe Northwest parking lot. The Phoebe Sumter campus will have its take back at the west entrance.

The FDA Expands Collaboration With CN Bio to Investigate Lung-on-a-chip Model for Inhaled Drug Evaluation Applications Follows success of initial project demonstrating the advanced performance of the Company s liver-on-a-chip platform CN Bio, a leading developer of single- and multi-organ-on-chip microphysiological systems (MPS) that improve the accuracy and efficiency of drug discovery, today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has extended their research collaboration, for a further three years. The scope of the research carried out with the FDA s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) has now been broadened to include the exploration of CN Bio s lung-on-a-chip using the PhysioMimix MPS platform, to appraise the system s use for the evaluation of inhaled drug products and assessing additional applications for CN Bio s liver model.
